15 European Chambers of Commerce in Japan were represented at the annual gathering in Tokyo’s Kimpton Hotel.
Along with meeting the heads of various chambers, and businesses operating in fields as diverse as events management to petrochemicals, Mark Logan had the opportunity to meet with both the Chairman and Executive Director of the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan.
Richard Lyle, President of the British Chamber in Japan is an experienced business development executive with extensive experience of working in-country, having spent most of his career here. Richard specialises in helping foreign companies and Economic Development Organisations to develop their business with Japan.
Executive Director at the Chamber, Sarah Backley, is responsible for the leadership, general management, and communications strategy of the organisation. Her role includes implementing operational plans to achieve Chamber goals and objectives, as set by the Executive Committee (Excom) and managing all BCCJ events and activities.
Having operated for 20 years with and in East Asia, at senior levels in business, diplomacy and politics, Mark is ideally positioned to draw on his experience as an MP, with deep knowledge of the region to support organisations with an interest in the Japanese, Chinese and other connected markets in Asia Pacific.
