The society was established in circa 1905
Professor Tim Minton OBE (representative secretary) and Simon Lloyd (treasurer) of Tokyo’s Cambridge & Oxford Society extended a warm welcome to Mark Logan as its newest member.
The society was founded in roughly 1905, and regularly hosts events across the city in what is a flourishing Cambridge and Oxford alumni community.
Kojunsha was the location for this latest special event where alumni from government, diplomacy, and businesses large and small congregated for the last time before the next General Election in Japan.
Professor Minton has been a professor at Keio University School of Medicine since 2012, where in addition to teaching medical English, he has been researching English usage in medical writing and research presentation, along with issues specific to the teaching of medical English.
Beyond the university, he has been involved in the promotion and exchange of British culture, serving for six years as Executive Director of the Japan-British Society, an organization which aims to promote goodwill between Japan and the UK. He has also been Representative Honorary Secretary of the Cambridge and Oxford Society for many years.
